It’s that time of year again for the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards! And this year’s nominees include a number of artists released by SWEET SOUL RECORDS! We are fortunate to be associated with such talented artists and feel that they absolutely deserve the recognition received from SoulTracks and their readers.
We would like to congratulate all the Readers’ Choice Awards nominees especially the artists who have given us the opportunity to release their music in Japan.
Nominees include the rising Japanese singer Nao Yoshioka, producer Brandon Williams, protégé of Grammy and Billboard super producer Michael J. Powell, the new voice of American soul Brian Owens, the soulstress Teri Tobin, Rhonda Thomas who was background vocalist for the late, great Isaac Hayes and bands Mad Satta the ultra-tight eight-piece outfit, and Madrid-based funky and soulful VenueConnection.

Between now and October 31, SoulTracks email subscribers will get the chance to vote for their favorites. Ballots will be emailed on Friday, October 23rd and again (for new subscribers) on October 28. To receive a ballot, just sign up at the top of this page where it says “Subscribe.” It’s free and private, and you’ll receive your ballot the next date that ballots are mailed. The winners will be announced at our international broadcast on Monday, December 7.
